a labor day get-away : part one

We had the opportunity to take a little break this Labor Day and head to the coast to meet up with some friends at a beach house in Lincoln City. To be honest, I wasn't really anticipating good weather, but I just couldn't resist the chance to steal away for the weekend... even if it should decide to be ugly outside. I geared up with a whole gamete of games as well as a box of my painting supplies incase we were gonna have to hunker down and hover around one of the two fireplaces at the house. We even packed rain-gear... and much to my surprise we only needed such a jacket once during the afternoon on Sunday. There were true blue skies and puffy white clouds the rest of the time. I regret not taking more people photos... and I still haven't uploaded from my camera (where the true proof of BLUE skies lies), but here are a few choice pics taken from my DH's camera: (the first four are from our drive over the coastal mounts)...

*new* blog title/design...

Experimenting with a new blog title... I have felt for a long time that just using my(new)lastname wasn't really working for this blog. I need to break out of the mold of this being a blog with just my(new)lastname as the name plate. I do love my(new)lastname. It was the only one I ever felt to say, "I want to be Mrs. Mynewlastname!" It's true. *grin* But there is also the fact that not to be mention that I wouldn't mind getting out from underneath the fierce motherbear-restriction radar. Oops, did I mention that? I was so close to letting that all go... until I saw the photos on other people's blogs and online albums. Ok. Whatever. Anyways, I regress, regarding the new title: perhaps to fit my new photo. It's a seesaw in the yard of this amazing beach house on Cannon Beach, OR. I know the title isn't necessarily grammatically correct for all you grammar-nazis, (it's ok, I'm usually one too). I'm just playing with it... perhaps it will stick... or drive me crazy as well, we'll see.

Well, firstly I apologize to my avid readers/visitors. I could enumerate the excuses for the lack of postings... but I will try to spare you. Let's just say a lot has been happening (I know, I know, you all want to hear about it. But my back-blogging days would out weigh my future-blogging days and so I simply must start afresh). I have SO many photos I have wanted to share with you all but my computer has been acting kinda weird and that has limited my online posting of photos. Uh-oh, I feel a stream of excuses coming on.... Stop, Em. Stop while you're ahead. With that, I will end this post in hopes of beginning afresh here in the future... and wish me luck... (I need it!)

My beloved is gone...

I took him to the train station downtown this afternoon en-route to Bellingham, WA to work with his dad on a remodeling/tiling project.  It should only take about a week and a half... I miss him already. If you are reading this, dear, I love you!  Be safe.
