July 2, 2011. Dog Mountain

A beautiful treasure a few miles outside of Stevensville, WA on Hwy 14.

Silly us, we chose a difficult hike to christen our summer adventures.

Just clearing the tree line... two miles down, still another mile.6 or so to go!

He wasn't lying when he said it was steep. *grin*

But the views were awesome and the wildflowers were so pretty!

It was so windy as we were scaling the heights. . . but the breeze was very welcomed as it was a nice hot summer day in the gorge.

I thought we would welcome the downhill after such a climb, but it was way worse on my knees than going up. Go figure.

Needless to say, we were dog tired after the haul.

But we had a really great time.
